11v11 Football Rules
These are currently hypothetical rules. Watch this page for updates.
Game Format
- 11 players on the field per team
- Two 20-minute halves with running clock
- Clock stops on: incomplete pass, out of bounds, penalty (last 2 min each half)
Scoring
- Touchdown: 6 points
- PAT kick: 1 point
- 2-point conversion: 2 points
- Field goal: 3 points
- Safety: 2 points
General Rules
- Standard tackle football rules apply
- Legal blocking above the waist
- No chop blocks or crack-back blocks
- Fair catch allowed on punts/kickoffs
Equipment Requirements
- Helmet with face mask (NOCSAE certified)
- Shoulder pads
- Mouthguard (required, must be visible color)
- Football pants with knee and thigh pads
- Cleats (no metal spikes)
Clock Rules
- 25-second play clock
- Running clock except final 2 minutes of each half
- Each team gets 3 timeouts per half
Sportsmanship
- Unsportsmanlike conduct: 15-yard penalty
- Two unsportsmanlike penalties = ejection
- Fighting = automatic ejection and suspension
