11v11 Football Rules

These are currently hypothetical rules. Watch this page for updates.

Game Format

• 11 players on the field per team
• Two 20-minute halves with running clock
• Clock stops on: incomplete pass, out of bounds, penalty (last 2 min each half)

Scoring

• Touchdown: 6 points
• PAT kick: 1 point
• 2-point conversion: 2 points
• Field goal: 3 points
• Safety: 2 points

General Rules

• Standard tackle football rules apply
• Legal blocking above the waist
• No chop blocks or crack-back blocks
• Fair catch allowed on punts/kickoffs

Equipment Requirements

• Helmet with face mask (NOCSAE certified)
• Shoulder pads
• Mouthguard (required, must be visible color)
• Football pants with knee and thigh pads
• Cleats (no metal spikes)

Clock Rules

• 25-second play clock
• Running clock except final 2 minutes of each half
• Each team gets 3 timeouts per half

Sportsmanship

• Unsportsmanlike conduct: 15-yard penalty
• Two unsportsmanlike penalties = ejection
• Fighting = automatic ejection and suspension
